Action anime... unlicensed... hmm...
hows about "Monster"? though its a dark anime so i don't know how appropriate it is for ani-pock.net...

It is possible, the ANN ratings were very high. Although the genre is : "Drama, Horror, Mystery, Police, Psychological".

Maybe something brighter if possible, but thanks for the suggestion.

i know "Yu-Gi-Oh" has been licenced, but what about the very first season of Yu-Gi-Oh? (i doubt it could be done, but it might be an option)

I don't know if it's been released or not but "Kyuuketsuki Yuugi" (Vampire Game) could also be an option. it sounds pretty cool!

something by CLAMP is always good! ^^

that's all i could find. I don't know if any of it could be used, but i guess it's an option. sorry if i couldn't help.

anyone know what this is? I reposted this part of my post from the previous blog entry here.

How about Shakugan no Shana? If I don't say so myself, it is somewhat similar to Bleach with the swords and such. It would be a nice replacement for it, don't you think?

If not that, I continue to suggest Kamichu, the one a while back that you christened "likely candidate" because of its high ratings.

In response to the anonymous..

Tokyo Mew Mew is already Licensed by 4kids. (I think.)

Hmm...I`ve been wanting to watch Samurai X..but I think that`s licensed too.

Girlbravo perhaps? Even though it`s leaning towards the girl audience..like the two other animes playing.

Check this link to AnimeonDVD for licensed anime. Most of those mentioned above are already licensed.

I suggest the 6 episode Gunbuster 2 then School Rumble.

I think Wish or Ragnarok the Animation should be the next new anime, both are unlicensed.

Well, how about Serial Experiments Lain? Anime Mews Networks says that SELs' genres are "Drama, Horror, Mystery, Psychological, Science Fiction, Supernatural". This serie has 13 episodes. I don't know if it's licenced or not, but I didn't find it from the AnimeOnDVDs' pages.

I'll second Shakugan no Shana. The only complaints I had with it were the first few episodes were dreadfully boring vocabulary lesson, it had no idea what it was doing with fanservice, and that it ended a bit too openly (which isn't too surprising since the novels it's based on are still going and they announced a movie in the last episode). At around episode 7 or 8 (end of the first arc), the animation and plot takes a major MAJOR step up though (and it really wasn't bad to begin with, just plodding) and never really looks back.

The Nanoha series is also a very good choice, but sort of suffers from the same thing. Dreadfully stale/boring first few episodes (of the first season) but picks up significantly around episode 5 or 6 (makes a shift from magical girlish show to more fighting/adventure oriented) and the second season is pretty much nonstop action. The second season especially makes me think of what a Missing and Immaterial Power anime would be like, magical girls with giant beam cannons beating the crap out of each other. The second season is also relatively disjointed from the first, so you could watch/show it without having seen the first, but there are a few minor plot things you'll miss as well as some neat background details and the like.

fantasy: .Hack//Roots or .Hack//G.U. (anyway... same thing)

comedy:Daa! Daa! Daa!

???: Ichigo 100%

fantasy, magic: rozen maiden

Erp, here's a short clip of the first episode of the second season (probably about the 6th best fight in the season) and the Opening Piece if you need extra convincing for Nanoha. :-p Triad did the English subs.

How about the anime "Air"?

At 7:29 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

how about fushigi yuugi

What about Mai-HiME or Mai Otome?

At 5:26 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Choro Crusade
Genres: Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Historical, Horror, Shounen, Supernatural

So Chrono (or Chrno, I'm not sure) Crusade is an action anime. It has 24 episodes, and I don't think that it is licenced.

And I'd like to remind every one that Pocky is lookin' for unlicensed ACTION genre animes... For example, I don't think that Peach Girl is action anime... -.-'

How about Slayers ?? If you can put it i will love

At 7:03 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

how about samurai X? That was cool.

At 9:29 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

FYI, an anime is Liscensed when it has been translated into english and shown on TV or released on english DVD over here in America. So if you have seen the show on tv sometime or bought the dvd at your local video store then the series has been liscensed. so samurai x, Yu-gi-oh, tokyo mew mew, R.O.D., chrono crusade, and Fushigi Yuugi are all liscensed. Try asking for a series where you've read the manga or something and know it's an anime but the anime hasn't been released overseas yet...

If DNAngel is still unlicensed I think that would be cool...the manga is awesome and it's not too dark or horror filled but not overly cheerful...the art is amazing and I'd really love to be able to see it and hear what they sound like!!!

HiME has been licensed too, and Otome is drek. It has about as much misplaced angst as Utakata and sadly, about the same amount of action.

Another viable alternative though is Futakoi Alternative. It begins with crazy over the top action and ends with fighting giant squid with baseball bats. The middle is more romance/drama though, so may not be quite what you're looking for. It's wholly separate (alterate universe deal) from its predecessor, so don't even bother with it.
